Practicing Colour

Melanie Roger Gallery, Auckland, October 2015.

This exhibition presents artistic research highlighting the relationship between art, craft and meditation. It was made shortly after a residency in Indonesia in which I studied locally developed meditation practices based on syncretic religious beliefs.

A culmination of over two years of focused training, the marbled image (printed directly on paper, not collaged) depicts a teardrop shape sourced from the dingbat font supplied by many computer word processing programs.
